      How do I get to Lismore Court House?

      You can get to Lismore Court House by driving about 9 hours from Sydney. Our lawyers prefer to fly to Lismore Airport and take a hire vehicle into the town centre.

      If travelling via public transport, Countrylink services are available between Sydney and Casino. From Casino to Lismore, bus services operate.

      Who is the Magistrate at Lismore Local Court?

      The current presiding Magistrate at Lismore Local Court is His Honour Magistrate Daryl Hielpern.

      Prior to his appointment to the bench, Magistrate Hielpern was a solicitor and then a barrister. Throughout his life he has been involved in the prison reform, drug law reform and environment movements.

      Who is the Judge at Lismore District Court?

      The current presiding Judge at Lismore District Court is His Honour Judge McLennan.

      Prior to his appointment to the bench Judge McLennan was a Crown prosecutor for the Director of Public Prosecutions. We were recently able to obtain a ‘not guilty by reason of mental illness’ verdict in a Judge-alone trial before his Honour for very serious fraud cases. Click here to read about it.
