Forbes Local Court

Forbes is famous for being one of the sites of the gold rush after the discovery of gold in Forbes in 1861.

The Court does not sit every day. However, the Registry is open from Monday to Friday.

Who is the Magistrate at Forbes Local Court?

The current presiding Magistrate at Forbes Local Court is His Honour Magistrate Phillip Stewart.

Before his appointment to the bench, Magistrate Stewart spent time as a Police officer and prosecutor before working as a criminal defence solicitor. He was recognised for his expertise by the Law Society of NSW, which labeled him as an accredited specialist in criminal law in 2001.
