      Gosford is approximately 85 km from Sydney. It is easily accessible by train. The Courthouse is a short 10-minute walk from Gosford Train Station.

      Alternatively, if you are driving, Gosford Courthouse is one hour away from Sydney. It sits next to Gosford TAFE.

      Who are the Magistrates at Gosford Local Court?

      The current presiding Magistrates at Gosford Local Court are His Honour Magistrate Peter Barnett, Magistrate Peter Railton and Magistrate Elizabeth Ellis.

      Prior to his appointment to the bench, Magistrate Barnett worked as deputy senior crown prosecutor at Newcastle.

      Magistrate Railton is very experienced, having been on the bench for a number of years.

      Magistrate Ellis is a long serving volunteer in the Law Society’s mock law program.

      Who is the Judge at Gosford District Court?

      The current presiding Judge at Gosford District Court is Her Honour Judge Tanya Bright.

      Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Bright was a Crown prosecutor working for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
